Actions: 
(1) install winzip and winimage on your PC
(2) create a bootable floppy called "detective"
 

Install Winimage:

First, install winzip winzip and winimage  winimage on a PC.

Create a Detective Floppy:  

Download and save netcard.imz (the detective image)

Invoke winimage:
 click Start....Run....c:\winimage\winimage.exe  )

Drop the file netcard.imz into the winimage's open window, you should see this

Insert a blank floppy disk in drive A, click Disk....Write...

Label the floppy as "detective" floppy.floppy

Insert the floppy in the target LRP machine and boot up the LRP machine.

This floppy contains the following: (do one card at a time)

3C503.exe which sets and detects 3com 3c503 EtherLink II cards
3C507.exe which detects 3com 3c507 EtherLink 16 cards
3C509.exe which sets and detects 3com 3c509 (10Mbps ISA)
3C590.exe which sets and detects 3com 3c590 (10Mbps PCI)
3C905.exe which sets and detects 3com 3c905 series (10/100Mpbs PCI)
RTL8019.exe which sets and detects ISA Novell 2000 clones (but not all)
RTL8029.exe which sets and detects PCI Novell 2000 clones (but not all)
RTL8139.exe for Realtek-based 10/100Mpbs Ethernet cards.
Realtek chip has this very distinctive logo.
sohoware.exe which detects (Tulip-compatible) Macronix MX98715 chipsets.
21140.exe which detects DEC/Intel 21140 Tulip; Tulip chip is 28mm x 28mm
